The laying of the foundation stone for the Methodist Sunday School was laid on November 29, 1929 by Mrs D. C. Huhges with the building opening the following March. Proceeding began at 3pm, with a procession of local and visiting clery from the Pasonage, in High Street, to the site of the new S.S. Hall where the Girls' comrades and Order of Knights formed a guard of honor. The building was situated behind the parsonage with the frontage in Evans Street
