Archives
This photograph, taken looking east towards the Penrith township, shows the pig sties at the Camelot Piggery. It is thought that the gentleman in the suit may be Graham Shirley, the name of the other man in not known. The piggery was located on Castlereagh Road, opposite the Millk factory and close to the railway line. The piggery or stud was also known as Shirley's Piggery, which bred Canadian Berkshire pigs and was owned by Graham Shirley. The property covered over 40 acres and included four residences. The area is now part of the Peachtree Industrial area.
