Council has a concept for the establishment of an historic precinct at the corner of the great Western Highway and Charles Hackett Drive, St Marys. The possible reconstruction of the Old St. Marys Post Office as an arts centre was seen as an impetus for this precinct. Since that time various discussions have taken place between Council and representatives of the Arts Centre to further develop the proposal.
