Mrs. Edward Cane, the oldest resident of Penrith at that time. The old lady who was 93 years of age, remarked to the camera man that he was "pretty quick" in photographing her, and added: "There were no photographs in my day. We had to sit down while they painted our likeness."
Ann Margaret Cane died on 4 May 1916 aged 94 years. She was the wife of Edward Cane, was the eldest living resident in Penrith, being 94 years of age. She was born in London, and with her husband and three children came to New South Wales in 1857.
