Early on Wednesday morning George Robert Colless, of Emu Plains, only son of the late John Colless of Castlereagh, died after a somewhat protracted illness. Deceased leaves a widow and six children, the two eldest being grown up young men. Deceased was 54 years of age at the time of his death. His funeral was the largest seen at Emu Plains for very many years. The procession comprised 53 vehicles and about 20 horses, besides a number on foot. Deceased's remains were interred in the Wesleyan portion of the General Cemetery at Emu Plains. Further details surrounding his illness and the burial service.
