Strange Circumstances - Shameful Neglect. Police received information from Ada Greenhalgh, employed at the Riverside Hotel, that a person had left a child with her to mind but had not returned. The child was so sick that Dr Shand had been called. The child died. An inquest was held. Adjourned to give the police an opportunity to call Mrs Whitmore and Mrs Flannagan as witnesses. Full report of proceedings given.
