On 11 January 1931, at his late residence, High Street, Penrith, James, beloved husband of Mary Louisa Corr, died at the age of 86. He was a native of Cook's River who came to Penrith as a youth and was employed as a coachman for the late D Beaton, also driving Cobb & Co coaches between Penrith and Little Hartley. For 18 years he was manager of Macaewar Station, but spent about 50 years in Penrith and Castlereagh. He was twice married, his first wife Miss Gunnell died over 40 years ago and his second wife was Miss Wizgell of Ryde.
