The ethnographic and linguistic evidence relating to the Dharug Aborigines who lived across the Western Cumberland Plain in 1788. This rich and diverse ecological zone did in fact support a substantial population of Aborigines. Archaeological surveys confirm that at least from the recent past, occupation sites are to be found throughout this area. Ethnography, tribes, bands, demography and archaeological surveys were explained to give idea about prehistoric Aboriginal population
