Dr John Dulhunty arrived in Australia as Surgeon-Superintendent of the convict ship Sesostris in 1826. His sons Robert Venour and Lawrence Vance had preceded him in 1824 on the Guildford along with Sir Francis and Lady Forbes. The family lived at Claremont at Penrith for a time before establishing the town of Dubbo.
