Blue Mountains residents turned out in force on Sunday to show their appreciation for the efforts of volunteers who fought the Black Christmas bushfires - Blue Mountains Mayor Jim Angel said the turnout was the biggest he had ever seen in Springwood - Officials estimated that there were 600 marchers and the parade route was lined two deep with spectators from Springwood Fire Station to the Civic Centre - Blue Mountains fire control officer Mark Williams said the day was 'very rewarding' - At the Civic Centre, Rural Fire Services Commissioner Phil Koperberg was made a Freeman of Blue Mountains City making him the seventh in the city's honour to be so honoured.
