Victoria Bridge Design Competition

Penrith (N.S.W.). Council
Books, Manuscripts
Early in 2011 a group of local business people in Penrith proposed an open public design competition to explore possible improvements to pedestrian and cyclists access across the Nepean River at or near the location of the existing Victoria Bridge. The competition judges were: Mr Joe Grassi ,Mr Robin McKay and Mr Bernard Fehon. The Penrith Star put up prize money of $500 and would report the competition. A winner was publicly announced via the Penrith Star late May. However the other proposals including those from school children were not able to be presented. This presentation attempts to show as many of the other idea entries as practicably possible.  Penrith City Council encourages public competitions such as this one in order to raise public awareness and explore creativity.
