The story of the amulet

Nesbit, E. (Edith), 1858-19242017
Large Print
After their hair-raising adventures with the Psammead, Cyril, Anthea, Robert and Jane all promised never to ask it to grant any further wishes. Except one - that they would some day meet it again... The following summer, left in the care of their old Nurse, the children are roaming the criss-cross streets of London when they stumble upon the Psammead once more - ragged, dusty, and caged in a pet-shop. Once rescued, it informs them that the promise still binds, and it can give them no further wishes. However, it is not ungrateful, and instead tells them the whereabouts of an ancient amulet that may grant them their hearts' desires...
