The 2013 Makings of a City History Conference - Crossing the Great Divide - Official Welcome by Councillor John Thain - Introduction by Lorraine Stacker - Keynote Speaker, Dr Siobhan Lavelle OAM, spoke about the legendary crossing of the Blue Mountains in 1813 by Blaxland, Lawson and Wentworth and some of the embellishments that have been added to the legend in the years since - Dr David Blaxland spoke about his great-great-grandfather Gregory Blaxland - Dr Tracy Bradford, Head of manuscripts at the State Library of NSW, described the documents that William Lawson left behind and what they told us about the man who wrote them - Andrew Tink, historian, NSW parliamentarian and writer, brought William Charles Wentworth to life and detailed his prominent and interesting career in the public eye - Associate Professor Carol Liston, historian and lecturer at the University of Western Sydney presented some challenging insights into what was happening in the District of Evan.
