Bruce Moore worked at the Balgay Cannery Factory for 37.5 years, starting when he was just under 16 years old. He talks about starting work and the required medical examination, getting to work, working in the tin shop (Tin Room) under Sandy Methven with his cousin George, union involvement in the factory, working in the jam section, working processes, working conditions and accidents. Talks about working under the Methvens until they retired and a manager was brought in - Mr Gilbert. Talks about increased mechanisation, structure of the factory, various managers, making jam for export to America.
