Yuki, a young Japanese woman and self-styled psychic detective, tragically lost her mother in the UK ten years ago. After visiting her sister in London, she travels to the last place her mother went before her death: the Bronte parsonage in Haworth, and the snow-covered moors that surround the town. Along with her new friend Denny, a local girl who is keen to accompany her, Yuki goes in search of significant locations and, ultimately, the one person who can explain the ghosts in the photographs Yuki's mother viewed at the Institute of Psychic Studies. Both a pilgrimage and an investigation into family secrets, Yuki's journey is one she always knew she'd have to make.
