It was a golden age of music, when rock n roll and pop was on the rise and local audiences were hungry for more. With TV in its infancy, 1958 heralded the beginning of the much-loved national television triumph Bandstand. Created by TCN-9 executive Bruce Gyngell and modelled on the successful American musical / variety show of the same name, Bandstand was hosted by the ever-charming Brian Henderson. In the 60s Bandstand welcomed Liza Minnelli and Dionne Warwick. This collection also features performances by The Allen Brothers, Ray Brown and The Whispers, Christine Roberts, Kevin Todd, Gay Hudson and Lana Cantrell.
