In his first full season of Aussie racing since 2000, the former National Champion showed just why he is so revered around the world, beating the best the Formula Xtreme field had to offer, including reigning and multiple series champion, Yamaha Racing teammate Kevin Curtain. 2013 also saw Kawasaki's Matt Walters emerge as a genuine title threat, and indeed it was Walters who won the one-off Australasian Superbike Championship at Sydney Motorsport Park and will wear the number one plate in 2014.
