Emu Plains Methodist Church was built in 1862. Made from sandstone, the chapel is a Gothic style mid-Victorian building. The building design is attributed to William Jackson. Stone used in its construction was sourced from Edinglassie, the home of Chief Justice Francis Forbes. The wooden fence was replaced by a concrete fence in June 1934. The church was renamed the Emu Plains Uniting Church and was incorporated into the Edinglassie Retirement Village.
