There has been a dramatic increase in the number of housebound people using Penrith City Library's mobile service- The number of people using the home library service in the Penrith area has increased from 35 in 1984 to 174 in 1994. Nine vlunteers select and administer borrowings and deliver books. A photograph of Julie-Anne Jones and some of her volunteers is included with this article.
