Plans to include a museum within the extensions to the Joan Sutherland Centre continue to be pursued by Penrith Council - A $12 million tender from Arenco Ltd to carry out the extension was accepted by council at their most recent meeting (February 2), with an option to include the museum in the development - Plans to revamp the centre have been underway since 1996-the idea of the museum was only thrown into the mix about six months ago - Council is waiting for reports from consultants and the NSW Museums and Gallery Foundation on the suitability of the museum.
