OBITUARY - MR C F JACKSON - A BUILDER OF RENOWNED ORGANS

Mr Chas. James Jackson (father of Mr John W Jackson, of Penrith) died at Rawson Street, Haberfield, on 19 May, at the age of 80 years. A meritous achievement for Mr Jackson was the building of the organ for the Exhibition Building, Sydney, in 1870, this being the first instrument of this nature to be constructed entirely of Australian timbers. He is survived by 6 children. Funeral was at Rookwood Cemetery.
