The conference was intended to inform and assist those involved in the planning and development of the many new and redeveloped public library buildings in Australia and New Zealand. These proceedings have a similar aim, to be a useful resource for anyone involved in the growth and replacement of public library buildings, which needs to continue for many years. Included are all of the 20 papers that were presented, edited transcripts of the two panel sessions, and the learnings identified by each speaker for consideration by anyone involved in a library building project. The papers are published in the order they were presented.
