The draft regional environmental plan establishes a framework for coordinated planning and development in City West as a whole. Seeks to establish certainty over the type, location and intensity of development while at the same time retaining flexibility to accommodate likely changes in demand, economic conditions, infrastructure requirements and funding over a 30-year period.Pyrmont is to become a new residential community for the City of Sydney supported by employment and recreational opportunities throughout the peninsula. Ultimo will become a lively location for business and housing. It will build on the resources of the University of Technology and the ABC and become a focus for technology-related and service industries.
