Leaving Portsmouth for New South Wales in 1798 it was a voyage that cost nearly 100 lives. A detailed account of the voyage from the diary of William Noah, a convict, and the fortunes of some of his shipmate survivors whose lives were linked with theirs. The book includes a list of the officers and seamen of the Hillsborough, and a list of the convicts (subdivided by the English prison from which they were transported). Mentions hunting, fishing and canoes of Aborigines at Sydney.
