Heritage assessment - the area was modified by colonists. Hill tops and slopes have been orchards a or vineyards for 50-60 years. Some of the are was used for market gardens. The valley floor was dotted with dams and drainage furrows. The Muscio property had been in the family since 1892. The buildings on a hill between Caddens Road and O'Connell Street include a sandstone shed which was used as a broom factory at the turn of the century. local women worked in the factory. The millet for the brooms was grown on the flats below the hill. Mr G C Kemp and Mr L Heather was interviewed for the study
