This Statement of Environmental Effects (SEE) has been prepared to accompany a development application for the temporary use of part of the ADI Limited (ADI) property at St Marys. The purpose of the development application is to obtain development consent for the manufacture of modular housing units which will be temporarily erected at Newington Village and used to accommodate athletes and officials during the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The ADI property lies within the Blacktown and Penrith urban areas and is central to the Sydney Metropolitan Region's Western Urban Corridor. The ADI property is bounded by The Northern Road to the west, Ninth Avenue and Palmyra Avenue to the north and east, Forrester Road, Ropes Creek, Dunheved Industrial area, South Creek and the residential areas of Werrington County, Werrington Downs and Cambridge Gardens to the south.
