Lemongrove was a land grant to Sarah McHenry in 1834. Robert Thurston purchased Lemongrove in 1867 and when he died in 1869 the land transferred to his wife Margaret Thurston. After her death the property was sold in 1885 following a Supreme Court judgement. In 1888 Lot 15 Section F (now 31 Lemon Grove Road) was conveyed from Thomas Richard Smith and Sydney Smith to Mary Ann Clark (later Duff), T R Smith's daughter. In 1924 Mary Ann Duff sold the property to Eileen (or Ellen) Judges, wife of pharmacist Arthur Judges. Marjorie Craven inherited the property in 1941. In 1958 the property was conveyed to Gertrude Susan Bond Weaver, widow of Hornsby. A duaghter Gladys Love lived in the house from 1968 until 1984
