Henry Fulton entered Trinity College Dublin in 1788. He joined Wolfe Tone's Society of United Irishmen. Fulton was caught and transported to New South Wales. Along with him were Father William O'Mara of Nenagh and Father Talbot of Castletown Arrah (Portroe). Fulton at the time was Protestant Church of England minister at Silvermines, Nenagh. Fulton's wife Anne went with him. He was sent to Norfolk Island, pardoned and returned to New South Wales to serve the Parish of Castlereagh. He was a friend and supporter of William Bligh.
