Contents:
Relevant studies and previous reports - heritage studies - Site history - St Marys history - land grant to John Harris and later Phillip Parker King in 1806. Land sold to NSW government for the railway in 1860s and surrounding land was subdivided/leased. John Harris of Shane Park estate purchased 2 acres in 1877. Shane's Park Hotel built on the site of Lot B and saleyards built on the adjoining blocks; In 1877 Ellen Darcy became the first licencee of the hotel. Other licencees were John Garvey, David reid, Andrew and Elizabeth keys (Kays), Michael McCarren who purchased the hotel in 1892. Land sold in 1892 to John King Lethbridge, Edgar William Piper Cox and William Garner. Saleyards operated by William Inglis & Sons - Penrith Council purchased the site in 1963/64 and 1972 - excavation and recording.
