australianscreen provides access to information about the Australian film and television industry. Includes excerpts from feature films, documentaries, television programs, newsreels, short films, animations, and home-movies produced over the last 100 years. Includes teachers' notes. The site brings together material from the collections of the National Film and Sound Archive, the National Archives of Australia, the ABC, SBS, and AIATSIS. All material is made freely available with the permission of the copyright holders. The Indigenous page has comprehensive listings of titles including film and television titles written and directed by an Indigenous person - Indigenous documentary - which includes factual representation of Indigenous people and culture by Indigenous people - Indigenous drama - which includes dramas written and directed by Indigenous people - Film & Television with Indigenous content - which includes film and television titles written and/or directed by a non-Indigenous person. Information is also included on Indigenous protocols and appropriate ways of using Indigenous cultural material, and interacting with Indigenous people and their communities. Protocols encourage ethical conduct and promote interaction based on good faith and mutual respect. Clips in this collection have been selected for their educational value and any clips that are considered potentially disturbing carry clear classification warnings.There are currently 509 clips with teachers' notes.
