Penrith Council - Aldermanic Amenities

Articles
A stirring special meeting. Alderman Blaikie put forward 3 motions for discussion and vote. 1) That Mr W.J. Elliott, Clerk of Works, be allotted the additional duty of collecting the sanitary fees. 2) That the services of Mr A. Hand, Assistant Clerk, be dispensed with. 3) that the Mayor, Alderman Fitch, does not retain the confidence of his colleagues and be asked to resign. An interesting discussion followed, with motions 1 and 3 getting the 'yes' vote, and motion 2, a 'no' vote.
