The NSW Government recognises the need for the improved management of rivers and estuaries and their floodplains. This policy is the first natural resources policy within the Total Catchment Management (TCM) framework to focus on river and estuarine resources. The intent is to ensure that rivers and estuaries can continue to support responsible economic and social uses in the long term.
