The coaching age, which began in 1854, lasted for almost 70 years. It began when four young Americans, headed by Freeman Cobb, introduced the revolutionary leather-slung Concord coaches to Australia's unmade goldfields' tracks. This book tells the story of the birth, rise and fall of Cobb and Co., as well as describing in detail what the coaching age was like.
