Never do we think in the history of the Colony has such terrible weather, as that of Monday last, been experienced. Bush fires raged all around, great damage done to fencing, timber, grass and out-houses. Horses and cattle, fruit and crops suffered severely. Thomas Ransley, son of George Ransley, who was unfortunately hemmed in by the fire, is in a precarious state as a result of his injuries.
