Collection: Local Map

Set of ten sheets covering the Perith Local Government Area. Maps show high, medium and low bushfire hazard areas and bushfire risks to environmental and ecological assets of the area. Also show the vegetation of the area and bushfire management.

Original map was compiled from 900 surveys, and engraved by Mitchell and Carmichael, almost half onto copper. It shows counties of NSW as at 1834, with roads planned and marked out by Thomas Mitchell.

Maps show Olympic Torch relay, where torch enters and leaves Penrith and situation of banner displays in the area.

Map shows walking trails and highlights local features between Emu Plains and Faulconbridge, including an original portion of Cox's Road.
