Tench Reserve riparian corridor is located on the eastern shoreline of the Nepean River. It has special significance as the place where Captain Watkin Tench and his party in 1789 first sighted the river. The Reserve was gazetted on 10 February 1984.

The life story of convict bushranger Bold Jack Donohoe (the Wild Colonial Boy) and the early history of bushranging in the colony of NSW. His capture is recorded in the Sydney Gazette on 7 September 1830
