This report forms part of a programme to assemble the best available biological information on selected endangered species, problem species, and species of special interest to identify actions critical to their management to ensure they are not lost.

The conservation of waders and their wetland habitats are matters of special concern. In this report, information on the waders of NSW is summarised and reviewed. recommendations are made for a state-wide management plan for their conservation.
