Henry Kelly worked in various sections at the munitions factory at various periods of its operation from 1943 until 1988. Henry and his family lived in the Duration Cottages when his parents worked at the old factory.

The Band dates back to 1889. In 1947, when the licensed club started, the band entered contests. They rose to C Grade in 1963 & A Grade in 1969. In 1971 they were Australian Champions. Conductor: Cliff Reese.
