This handbook was designed and developed at a writing workshop in Canberra in March 2001, facilitated by Peter cuming of Sustainable Futures Australia.

The role of housing and the location of such housing to meet employment and social needs also needed renewed emphasis.

The aim of the workshop was to overview some significant research projects and present some best practice examples of how agencies are working with NESB communities on environmental or natural resource management issues.

Designed to encourage and support those involved in planning, design and operation of community centres. It is anticipated that these guidelines will assist in delivering high quality outcomes and community centres which are used and enjoyed.
