During the first half of the twentieth century, the Mulgoa-Wallacia area became a popular country resort. The mock Tudor styled Wallacia Hotel opened in December 1937 and remains as evidence of this era. It features elaborate brick detailing, half- timbered gables, with a steep pitched, multi-gabled roof.
