This corner was the site of Thompson's Store and Hope's Bakery. It eventually became the Philip Plows Real Estate. Andrew Thompson had originally intended the building as an hotel but opened a general store instead. He later leased it to James Hope who ran a bakery and general store. The building was badly damaged by a runaway truck in June 1978. It was later demolished.
