The Fulton and McHenry familes were among the first settlers in the Castlereagh district. Henry Fulton was the first anglican minister and established the school called the Castlereagh Academy. John McHenry was the first magistrate. This cemetery includes burials dating from 1814 with most of the headstones dating from the second quarter of the 19th century.
