Regatta Park is a popular picnic spot for tourists and locals located on the western bank of the Nepean River. The river was the site of major rowing competitions and Regatta Park would be packed with spectators as this was an ideal location to watch the racing. Rowing competitions are now held at the Sydney International Regatta Centre.
