In July 1838 Charlotte Eather's husband, Robert Williams, purchased from Robert Martin a farm known as "Agnes Bank" some eight kilometres south of Richmond. This land, Portion 29 of the Parish of Castlereagh, consisted of 278 acres originally granted to Andrew Thompson as a Crown Grant on 11 August 1804. Robert and Charlotte quickly made "Agnes Bank" their home.
