This rendered church was built in 1878 following the destruction by fire of the area's original church in the 1870s. It was consecrated on 11 December 1878. The new church was built close to the rural settlement along Castlereagh Road and has been used by the community since. The chapel was renovated in 1931 when the interior walls were painted and a new organ installed.
