Health experts are gravely concerned about the number of COVID-19 cases in Sydney's Aboriginal population, particularly in south-west and western Sydney. A number of experts believe the Indigenous community is at a high risk of infection because of the prevalence of crowded living conditions and poor access to healthcare. The close-knit community makes lockdown especially difficult and may be damaging to mental health.
