Britannia float that formed part of the procession to help celebrate Empire Day assembling outside Penrith Intermediate High School. The float was designed to represent H.M.S. Triumph and Britannia was represented by Miss Mavis Hunter, Miss Nancy Jones (Ireland), Miss Victoria Redman (Scotland), and Miss Sheila Jordan (Wales). The procession began outside Penrith Intermediate High School at 10.30, then proceeded down High Street to Memory Park where a patriotic service was held and in the afternoon there were sports on the Showground for the children. St Andrew's Presbyterian Church can be seen in the background, and the last service was held St Andrew's Presbyterian Church was on 18th April 1965. The church was demolished in 1965 after 110 years of service to the people of Penrith.
