Mr. Thomas Jones, J.P. Mayor of Penrith. Was born at Leamington, in Warwickshire, in 1848, and was bred up as a carpenter and joiner. 1881, with his family he came to Sydney, and selected the North Shore as his future home. After retired from business in December, 1909. Mr. Jones decided to try country life, and, buying a property at Penrith and settled down here. He was elected alderman without effort and was unanimously chosen mayor in 1911.
