Biographical information on John Campbell who was appointed Chief Constable in Penrith on 1 October 1851. By 1852 he was stationed at Goulburn and married Ellen Wilson at Collector in 1853. They later separated and he died at Tarlo, near Goulburn on 23 November 1863 after a fall from his horse.
