The practice is going through a very busy time as James encounters problems during the lambing season. Meanwhile, Siegfried amuses himself by purchasing a flock of guinea fowl. James is left with the very testing responsibility of being Duty Vet at The Darrowby Show and as usual, Tristan has woman trouble. Siegfried sets about collecting some outstanding debts while James experiments with a new treatment on a dog with interesting results. Finally, despite the anticipation, Christmas celebrations turn out to be very much like any other day of work at the practice.
